“City Lyfe” / “Future City”

This last year was a game changer. I found myself alone in the streets and in the studio more than ever before. The world was divided by Politics, Race, and Disease and drove stakes in the ground between friends, family and strangers. It taught me that I really enjoyed good peoples company and supporting my Colorado community. Through this installation, I would like help guide people back together and move forward in teaching the next generation to simply get along.

The City is an abstract miniature wooden city built from recycled, reclaimed and repurposed wood. The city is open to anyone who wants to live there no matter what gender, race, age or background. The city will take on a new life as others occupy it. I encourage people to inhabit the city with anything that represents them. A small trinket, padlock or a simple name written on one of the houses or roof top decks will give life to this city. As time goes on it will weather in the elements and folks will come and go.

Artist Bio:

I was born and raised in New Jersey, but have lived and worked in Colorado for the last 11 years. At one time my favorite canvases were made of rigid steel and concrete scattered throughout the country. I have since refocused my creative output and have turned to painting found objects, building, and sculpting. I have been a tradesman my whole life and the pieces I create now are crafted from nearly one hundred percent recycled, re-purposed, and found building materials and supplies. Every single body of work is unique based on what materials I come across. My sculptures show the community/viewer that art can be made from anything. Recycling and re-purposing construction materials into beautiful animals and abstract sculptures allows me to give back to the community.
